Our free PoetryMic series introduces you to a varied group of talented poets that live in and around Sarasota. But you never know what visiting, well-known poets may drop by the loft!

This month's poets are Linda Albert and Judy Benfari.

About the Poets:

Linda Albert:

Linda Albert is an internationally published award-winning poet, essayist, and former theater director. A communication coach and trainer, certified in Neuro-Linguistics and Jungian Pattern and Dream Analysis, she has continued to design workshops, coach, and teach since moving to Florida, as well as going on with her writing and appearing at readings.

Judy Benfari:

Judy Benfari grew up in Greensboro, NC. She studied at Sullins College (now defunct) in Bristol, VA for one year. She then returned to Greensboro for two years to attend the University of North Carolina/Greensboro where she studied under poets Randall Jarrell and Fred Chappell for a semester. With a free spirit and deep desire to make her way to Boston, Judy left college and caught a bus to Boston on a whim. She lived in a single room 3rd floor walkup apartment on Beacon Street for several years, and eventually moved to Cambridge where she met her husband, Robert (Bob) Benfari.
